Since the opening of Seven Oaks Hospital in 1981, Seven Oaks Nurses Union, Local 72, has represented registered nurses, nurses, licensed nurse practitioners and registered psychiatric nurses. As the hospital has grown, it is the local. Right now, we have over 400 members; Full-time, part-time and casual. The managers, who are led by nurses, have different experiences, but they are also nurses on their hospital beds and, therefore, they bring a particular understanding of the subjects of the members. A collective agreement is a written and binding contract between the Union and the employer, which sets out the terms of employment. The Manitoba Nurses Union is constantly sought to improve working conditions, wages and benefits through the negotiation of new collective agreements. We are the faces of CUPE staff and touch every part of life: we provide emergency care, we work through the hospital and continue to be the driving force of the facility and much more. Some services available to MNU members are not covered by the collective agreement, but are provided through pension boards and fiduciary benefits: „Cancellation decisions are issued to employees when significant position changes are made. Generally, this could mean that a unit`s rotation plan has changed, and under the terms of the collective agreement, the rotations involved are „erased“ and staff choose positions for new rotations based on seniority. „It is important to note that the removals do not usually lead to dismissal,“ a WRHA spokesman said on Thursday. „We have a clause in our collective agreement that ensures that nurses have meaningful consultation,“ Jackson said. SOGH Health Sciences Library has a collection specializing in derpflege, Allied Health and Health Administration and contains a password for digital resources and magazines at the University of Manitoba.
. The parties also agree that this lump sum payment will be made to the nurses concerned during a salary period that will follow the last day of the two-day period following the September 30 period of each year. The majority of nurses are eligible for group living benefits at Den Ceraus through HEBP, which covers up to four times their salary in the event of death. There are also accidental deaths and reports of dismemberment. NOTE: As of October 1, 2016, the segregation allowance for this region will be $13,000 for all nurses. As a member of the Seven Oaks Nurses Union, you have an important role to play in our local. Because we are only as strong as our weakest link, we ask you to be aware of this; The Long Service Step came into effect on October 1, 2012. (N.B.: Section 2105 of the convention governs the calculation of years of service for this purpose.) „If the employer sets a 12-hour schedule and the majority of nurses say, „We don`t want to work on this,“ and the employer says, „It`s 12 hours and there`s no other choice,“ we don`t think it`s a good consultation. According to CUPE 204, employees will enter the process of selecting new jobs on Monday – but President Debbie Boissonnault told 680 CJOB that there are no new full-time positions on the table and that employee morale is low. Nurses also benefited from a co-financed COLA fund for all health care workers covered by the Health Workers` Pension Plan (HEPP).
Contributions to the COLA Fund will begin in 2014 and COLA will be paid in 2018. Please note that some of the 2013-2017 collective agreements are still outstanding and may be amended.
